KKS Equestrian is owned and managed by Swen and Kailiea Peters. KKS
has been developed from mid 2005 on the property "Willowbrook" 12
km west of Armidale.

Swen Peters
Swen, originally
from Osnabrück, Germany, is an NCAS Level II instructor. Swen was
stables manager and head rider for international showjumper and World
Cup finalist Heinrich-Hermann Engemann. Whilst working for Heiner,
Swen completed his German Professional Trainers certificate and was
awarded the Steensbeck Award for consistently high scores for dressage
and showjumping both riding and tuition. Recently, Swen was advised
he had the necessary skills and experience to upgrade to an EFA NCAS
Coach Educator, this will be something that will be looked into in
the next year.
Swen is an experienced
competitor in Showjumping up to A Grade level and Dressage to Advanced
level. Swen, whilst working at Kinnordy Stud in Queensland, trained
and competed the imported stallion Riverdance with great success from
Elementary to Advanced Dressage, as well as competing several youngsters
successfully in dressage scoring up to 70%. Swen now has several exciting
youngsters in the stable that will be campaigned in dressage or showjumping.
Training Success
Both riders have
been instrumental in the early education of many successful horses
including:
- Walk the Line
(exp UK) (aka Kinnordy Gernot) - Intermediate Eventer with William
Fox-Pitt
- Kinnordy
Serena - Grand Prix Showjumper with Clive Reed
- Kinnordy Riverdance (imp Ger) - FEI Dressage horse
- Kinnordy D'Artagnan - Ex World Cup Showjumper with Clive Reed, now
in retirement at KKS
- Rubinstar (imp Ger) - Advanced level dressage horse.
Training Philosophy
Our main aim is
to produce reliable, highly talented and well educated competition
horses for either dressage, showjumping or eventing. Our horses are
started under saddle in a stress free environment and trained along
the German training scale, which we believe is fundamental for producing
calm, reliable and sound competition horses. Every horse is considered
thoroughly with regards to conformation, scope, trainability, personality
and trained as a special individual to reach its full potential.
In 2002 KKS Equestrian
purchased its first lot of youngstock, the foals Kinnordy Geneva and
Kinnordy Gyron, both by Gymnastik Star (imp).

Kinnordy Gyron - August 2006 (3 months
undersaddle)

Kinnordy
Gyron - March 2007
Gyron (2002) looks
to become a flagship horse as he is already been very successful and
with only one year undersaddle he has won numerous Preliminary and
Novice Official Dressage classes with scores up to 75%. He is a great
example of what KKS is trying to produce and is regularly turning
heads and attracting favourable comments from judges and spectators
alike.
Already we have
been very pleased with the successes of our first youngsters and we
now have big hopes for the next generations of KKS youngsters!
KKS accepts horses
for schooling and competition.
Swen is available
for lessons and clinics. More information on training and services
can be found here.
Breeding Philosophy
KKS has a small
breeding program focusing on "Quality rather than Quantity". Our aim
is to produce warmbloods with quality sound conformation, superior
temperaments, excellent movement and huge jumping ability.
We believe
strongly in the significance of a successful mare-line whilst breeding
quality performance horses.
With this in mind
KKS has successfully acquired two mares from the influential Gold
Song (imp) family responsible for several showjumping and dressage
stars including Warlord, Silkston, Daley K, Kinnordy Serena, Galanthus
and many others.
Kinnordy Ramona - Riverdance (imp), and Kinnordy Sabrina - Silky Baby (imp), both with fully imported blood parentage are very important additions to the program.
